10 Edge And Christian WWE Matches That Totally Reeked Of Awesomeness

2. Tables, Ladders And Chairs I (SummerSlam 2000)

The inaugural Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at SummerSlam 2000 was the culmination of a three-way rivalry over the tag team titles that began months earlier at WrestleMania 2000, when Edge and Christian wrestled them away from The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz by being the most resourceful and alert Superstars in the match. With each team specializing in a specific weapon, a specialty match was devised that allowed the competitors to use said weapons to deal out pain and punishment, all the while climbing a ladder to retrieve the tag titles that hanged high overhead. The Hardy Boyz were the obvious favorites, the match emanating from their home state of North Carolina. Yet, no matter how hard they tried, nor whether or not Lita interfered (she did), they could not get the job done. Nor could the Dudley Boyz, who really had no recent issues with either of the other two teams but were simply added to the match on the strength of their performance months earlier in the Triangle Ladder match at WrestleMania. The dastardly villains, as they did so many other times throughout their careers, proved the most opportunistic. With the dust cleared and the bodies of their opponents sprawled across the squared circle and ringside area, they retrieved the titles and celebrated another major victory in a multi-man demolition derby.
