10 Edge And Christian WWE Matches That Totally Reeked Of Awesomeness

3. Edge And Christian Vs. The New Brood (No Mercy 1999)

Make no mistake about it: without the Tag Team Ladder match from No Mercy 1999, neither Edge, nor Christian nor The Hardy Boyz would have achieved the stardom that they did in World Wrestling Entertainment. That is by no means a judgment of their talent. It is simply a fact. Their match at No Mercy that October was the first opportunity those teams had to go out and steal a show out from underneath the likes of The Rock, Mankind, Triple H and Steve Austin, and they did just that. Throwing caution to the wind, they used innovative double-team spots and endured violent bumps for the sake of entertaining the audience and in hopes of launching themselves into relevancy as WWE's Attitude Era continued to thrive. As was the case so many times throughout their careers, Edge and Christian lost the match but earned the respect of the fans, their jaw-dropping performances becoming the stuff of legend almost overnight. By the time they left Cleveland, Ohio, and arrived in State College, Pennsylvania for Raw the next night, they were bona fide stars. Not many Superstars can ever claim such a dynamic change in card position based on one single performance.
