10 Edge And Christian WWE Matches That Totally Reeked Of Awesomeness
9. Edge And Christian Vs. The New Age Outlaws (Unforgiven 1999)
Edge and Christian's worth as potential WWE Tag Team Champions was tested in September 1999 when they battled the super-over Road Dog and Billy Gunn, alias The New Age Outlaws, at Unforgiven. The premiere tag team in WWE for the better part of two years, the Outlaws were the measuring stick for all other teams to judge themselves by. That night in Charlotte, North Carolina, the lifelong friends from Toronto delivered a quality performance, controlling the pace of the match and outclassing that champs for the majority of the bout. But their first title reign was not to be. Interference from rivals Matt and Jeff Hardy, who were partnered with Gangrel in the ineffective New Brood, led to Gunn delivering the Fame-Asser to Edge and scoring the pinfall victory. Edge and Christian saw their title aspirations dashed but they proved themselves against the top tandem in the biz in what was, arguably, their best performance in a straight tag match to that point. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xs0u71_new-age-outlaws-vs-edge-and-christian-unforgiven-1999-tag-team-championship-match-part-1-2_sport
