(John Cena Vs. Triple H Vs. Sheamus Vs. Kofi Kingston Vs. Ted DiBiase Vs. Randy Orton - Elimination Chamber 2010)

Ted DiBiase's stock was high in 2010.

His storyline leading into the pay-per-view involved the breakup of The Legacy, with former leader Randy Orton taking up a pod of his own in the same match. The Viper had failed to beat Sheamus for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble after a young Cody Rhodes interfered and caused a disqualification, which lead to a beatdown that ended the stable once and for all.

When it came time for Orton and DiBiase to come face-to-face inside the steel there was a twist in the tale. Rhodes was on the outside and still hadn't decided which of his two former stable-mates to side with. He slid a pipe into the ring which DiBiase got hold of first, hitting his opponent with it and making the elimination. Orton was overly protected here - he took an Attitude Adjustment from John Cena before DiBiase scored the pinfall...

Although it was clear Sheamus wouldn't be winning this match, it was even clearer that DiBiase was only in there to push The Legacy's story to WrestleMania. The trio would face off in a Triple Threat Match, where Orton got the better of the two younger wrestlers; he got his pinfall victory back over DiBiase too.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
