7. I'm Sorry, I Love You

Everyone knew what the outcome would eventually be when WWE announced a storyline for Ric Flair where he would be forced to retire the next time he lost a match. At the time, Flair was creeping up on being 60 years old, so it was only a matter of time.

A WrestleMania match with Shawn Michaels just seemed like a fitting way to go, and even though just about everyone assumed Flair would lose, they were still sucked in to everything that was happening. Every near fall for both men was met with gasps and wide eyes. When it finally came to the end of the match, it was clear what was happening. Even before the finishing sequence, both men had become emotional, with Flair already bawling like a child. With Michaels in the corner, preparing for Sweet Chin Music to finish the match, the camera zoomed in on his face as he looked at Flair and said the words "I'm sorry... I love you", and then hit his finisher to pick up the win. Immediately, the air was taken out of the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. People had just seen the end of an era, and they weren't sure how to respond.
