This is another entry that saw a feud continue on in an entirely new "era", even though the quality of the continuation was in the toilet. In 1990, Hulk Hogan VS The Ultimate Warrior was the match. WrestleMania 6 had a main event for the ages with those two squaring off in a rare (for that time) face VS face headlining match. In 1998, Hollywood Hogan VS The Warrior was something that most people had no interest in seeing, and the build for it killed off a lot of the interest that was there. Their match at Halloween Havoc 1998 is still considered one of the worst matches in wrestling history, and that certainly killed the rest of the excitement people had in the feud. When Warrior arrived in WCW, that initial wave of nostalgia washed over fans who had been watching for years. That didn't last very long, as the promos and segments were nonsensical from the start, but they sure did capture everyone's attention. People wondered if the new dynamic of Hogan being a heel would change things up. It did, with fans having a clear-cut face and heel to deal with, but it really didn't seem like fans flocked to Warrior's side like they were "supposed to". Whether that had to do with sub-par match build, or just Hogan and the nWo still being incredibly popular, is up for interpretation, but the entire thing seemed to be over just as quickly as it began. Hogan "got his win back" by defeating Warrior at Halloween Havoc, and Warrior was gone from the company two weeks later. We should just be happy we weren't subjected to the "rubber match".
