10 Events That Led To The Demise Of WCW

7. Benoit/Guerrero/Malenko/Saturn Leaving

Imagine if LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh all suddenly woke up one morning and decided they were so pissed off at the team€™s management that they were going to go play for the Lakers instead. That is essentially what happened when this group of talent decided to jump ship and join the WWF. Upset with Kevin Sullivan being promoted to head booker in the company, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, and Perry Saturn all decided to leave WCW and join the WWF. The group debuted as a stable in the WWF known as The Radicalz. Each member of the group would enjoy considerable success with the company, with Benoit and Guerrero becoming main eventers who would share one of the most memorable moments in the company€™s history at WrestleMania XX. It is hard for a company to recover after losing a group as talented as these guys, and WCW never really replaced them after their departure. Although Benoit and Guerrero would both tragically pass away at young ages, their influence will undoubtedly be remembered for years to come.
