8. Feet Are Snitsky’s Motivation

Talk about screeching halts.

Christ knows why this abomination happened back in 2005, or what WWE thought fans were supposed to feel when intimidating monster heel Gene Snitsky suddenly revealed that he was really into feet. Did WWE think that people would hate the guy because of his sexual fetishes?

Sure, most tummy's turn at the thought of chewing on toes, but it's hardly like ol' Gene deserved to be hated for his...interesting proclivities. That was the insinuation though - that peers in the locker room and peeps watching at home alike would boo Snitsky because he liked kissing tootsies in his spare time.

Later, Nick Dinsmore (Eugene) told the wrestling media that Gene's fetish was real. Again, meh. That still doesn't excuse WWE for thinking that anybody needed to see it play out on TV. Did someone think this would catch fire like Al Snow's 'Head' did?

It's a good thing they didn't run with that. Small mercies, eh?
