WWE distanced themselves from Enzo Amore in January 2018 once it became clear that he'd failed to divulge key info about a serious sexual assault allegation. An investigation into the allegations ended in May 2018, and Enzo was cleared, but his follow up behaviour didn't put him back in the spotlight for the right reasons.

Gatecrashing Survivor Series 2018 in disguise and then trying to hijack attention by cutting his familiar catchphrases was dumb. It was a publicity stunt from Amore, but not one that'd pay dividends. Some in attendance probably believed Enzo was there in an official capacity, but no - he'd pulled this off without WWE's knowledge.

Bet they were thrilled.

Looking back, Amore might've had good reason to expect another phone call from WWE after being cleared. After all, he was a popular star on the roster at his peak, and could've contributed something to the product. Sadly for Enzo, that PLE stunt proved he was an unpredictable liability.
