10 Exact Moments WWE Stopped Trying

5. Operation ‘P*ss Off The Revival’

Oh the hilarity.

The Revival earned rave reviews in NXT for staunchly sticking to their guns as a throwback to traditional tag-team favourites of yesteryear. They were WWE's resident '80s NWA' duo, and fans loved them for it - if nothing else, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson represented something different.

So, leave it to those "main roster" writers to totally ruin the pair's USP. Things started fine enough for The Revival on top shows, but it wasn't long before The Usos were laughing at Dash shaving Dawson's back in the showers (on the 29 April 2019 Raw), or the infamous "Ucey Hot" angle happened (6 May).

WWE ceased any thoughts that they were into the idea of The Revival being the serious tag they'd always wanted to be with these moments. One can actually pinpoint that shaving skit as the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. It was WWE's way of saying, 'You'll sports entertain, damn it!'.

People just wanted to see them wrestle.
