4. Sting Loses His WrestleMania Debut
Until he joined WWE in 2014, Sting was considered the 'one that got away' for the company. He had been absent during the Invasion of 2001 and worked in TNA for years instead of joining on for a big-money run in Vince McMahon's empire. Imagine the excitement then when Sting finally became part of the WWE roster.
The Sting vs. Undertaker match people had yearned to see for years didn't happen. Though Triple H replaced the latter, fans were still willing to invest in the WCW icon's first ever WrestleMania appearance in 2015. Then, Triple H clocked the Stinger with his trusty sledgehammer, nonsensically pinned him to put a WWE-coloured bow on the "Monday Night Wars" and then put an arm around Sting's neck like he was consoling a well-meaning rookie.
