10 Excellent 2015 WWE Matches That Deserve More Recognition

1. Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch (NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable)

Sasha Banks was involved in many of the best matches of 2015. Her clash with Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn will end up near to the top of many Match of the Year lists. However, in all of the fanfare over her matches with Bayley, one of Banks' best contests of the year has been almost forgotten. She fought Becky Lynch at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable back in May in a belter of a clash. Against the showy athletics of her matches with Bayley, Banks' bout with Lynch was something of a different beast. The match was a technical masterclass, with both women showing clear ability with submission holds and old school psychology. Lynch was something of an unknown quantity prior to this match, but fans were chanting her theme tune by the time she finally succumbed to the Bank Statement and tapped out to the champion. Banks and Lynch have both made their way to the main roster in 2015, but this match remains a high point in both of their careers with WWE. It remains to be seen whether they will tangle again, but their match at NXT TakeOver is one that deserves to be more fondly remembered by wrestling fans.
