10 Expectations Vs. Reality For WrestleMania 31

8. A Push For The Battle Royal Winner

Expectation: The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX accomplished a lot. Not only did it give a lot of guys a spot on the show, but it also did a great job of highlighting certain individuals. Sheamus looked strong, Kofi got to do his magic and eventual winner Cesaro looked like a star-in-the-making. When Cesaro bodyslammed The Big Show over the top rope and the crowd erupted, fans instantly assumed that he was in line for a massive push. He had clearly earned it after years of great performances and hard work. When he became the next 'Paul Heyman Guy' on the post-WrestleMania Raw, it seemed like a sure thing. Fans will be hoping that whoever has the honour of wining the second annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal will be worthy of it and that after 'Mania they will find themselves in line for a big push. The smart money is on Miz or Mizdow, the only two competitors (thus far) who have a storyline going into the match.
Reality: Come on, don't you remember what happened to Cesaro last year? After being endorsed by Hogan and Heyman and having stellar matches with Cena he was given a losing streak and sent on a trip down the card. In the era of start/stop booking you cannot believe that WWE will give a healthy sustained push to anyone that is not already on top.
