10 Expectations Vs. Reality For WWE SummerSlam 2021

5. Will Dominik Mysterio Turn On His Father?

Expectation:

It's bound to happen at some point. It's wrestling.

In wrestling, familial relationships are routinely destroyed as individual ambition is thicker than blood. Then blood becomes thicker when everything gets patched up and everybody learns a lesson.

Rey Mysterio half-b*llocked his bairn on SmackDown the other week because the Usos were trying to get into his head. In a twist, Dominik became the one person in this entire company to resist the distraction. He scored a fall against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

All is well! For now.

Reality:

Until Rey Mysterio loses the fall to the Usos on Saturday, and that ungrateful little sh*t blames the loss of momentum on his father and trainer. One kick to the balls later, and we're in for about three months' of storytelling and several more matches than that.

For years, people fan-cast the Undertaker's potential replacement.

Mordecai.

Bray Wyatt.

Aleister Black.

In reality, with his eerie blank void of a face and bone-chilling presence, David Flair was probably the best choice. He unwittingly played the role of circum-1991 'Taker, and Dominik's failure to emote casts him as more son than father.

His attempts to act out a rather ambitious level of emotion will be funny, so there's that.
