Rob Van Dam's push going swimmingly in the summer of 2006, but then one little thing got in the way: RVD's obsession with a certain green plant.

Mr. Monday Night was a wrestling hero in the hardcore land of ECW, and fans were desperate to see him grow further with WWE. For a spell, things seemed poised to go that way, as The Whole F'n Show won the second Money in the Bank match and became the first person to hold both the WWE and ECW World Heavyweight Championship.

Sadly, it would all come crashing down dramatically after RVD and Sabu were pulled over by police and arrested for drug possession.

Following this, he lost his WWE Title to Edge and the ECW Belt to Big Show. Fans were confused at the time as the news of his arrest wasn't distributed as well as it would be today, all they knew was that this wrestler's luck had run out.

WWE have a corporate image to maintain and can't allow one of their biggest stars to be an advocate for marijuana consumption. Unfortunately, RVD's career would never reach those heights again.
