10 Famous Wrestling Conspiracy Theories
3. Ultimate Warrior Was Replaced
Almost all wrestlers who wear a mask or face-paint are forever having to fend off rumours that they are one of multiple people playing the same role - and perhaps no more so than in the case of The Ultimate Warrior.
Online theorists contend that Warrior was replaced in the early 1990s after the original one died in real life (and instead of acknowledging the tragic death of one of their biggest ever stars, WWE heads just thought: well, we've still got his ring gear - let's just try it on someone else).
The evidence for this is largely unconvincing, mainly resting on the idea that he appeared bigger and more defined when he returned in the early 1990s - which, obviously, couldn't possibly have been down to the fact that he spent time working on his physique while he was away.
Plus: the guy that we last knew as Ultimate Warrior - James Hellwig, who passed away in 2014 - actually legally changed his name to "Warrior", which seems like something you'd only do if you spent a lifetime playing the character.
