10 Famous WWE Matches That Actually Sucked

2. Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock - WrestleMania 18

There's a big urban legend surrounding this match, which claims that Steve Austin refused to take the gig against Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 18 because he was worried Hogan was just too out of shape to pull a match of this type off. Turns out he was bang right, as we found out when The Rock stepped in and took the job instead. Looking back, it was easy to see why we were all so absorbed regarding this match. Here was a guy (Hogan) who had been away from the WWE for so long, that we were all desperate to see him wrestle in a WWE match again. It's like your favourite sportsman returns to your team after a ten-year absence - then you realise he's into his late-30s and is massively out of shape. The audience carried the match through to an underwhelming end after plenty of dismal in-ring action, mostly from Hogan. For large parts it felt like The Rock was as much a spectator as the rest of us; whilst he was watching Hogan doing his usual mid-1990s routine on the biggest stage of them all. There are some matches on this list that although they sucked, they had brief moments of enjoyment. This wasn't one of them.
