3. Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant - WrestleMania 3
Mention this match to 1000 people, and it's likely that at least 999 of them would instantly think of Hulk Hogan slamming Andre. And so they should, as it was an incredibly iconic moment when WrestleMania was still in its infancy as a concept. But although that slam was unbelievable, there was literally nothing else happening after or before it. That's not an exaggeration, either. Literally nothing happened apart from that slam. It was clear the whole match was built up towards Hogan lifting Andre up, as it was incredibly limp and stale all the way through the match. To be fair, Andre's best years were well behind him at this point - and it really did show. Where people get confused is labeling Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant as a great match, all because of that one moment. That's way over the top - the slam itself was a great moment, but the match was absolutely pitiful. Everyone knew the slam was going to happen (which was no bad thing), but there wasn't enough going on around that moment to make the match even vaguely interesting.
