6. Team WWE vs. Team Alliance - Survivor Series 2001
The significance of this match instantly ensures it makes it onto many wrestling fan's list of greatest wrestling matches of all-time. Sure, there were some nice swerves towards the back end that ensured an eventual win for Team WWE (like they were going to lose), but the actual action was appalling. Guys like Shane McMahon and Big Show delivered largely forgettable performances, and the real action didn't even get going until seven or eight men had been eliminated. For a traditional Survivor Series match, that's absolutely appalling. Some of the eliminations were pitiful; with roll-ups everywhere - which just led to a feeling that the whole match was being rushed through to the ending. It was obvious the WWE had put all their chips on the ending being superb, rather than ensuring the whole match was watchable. If you head over to YouTube and watch it back, you'll find it's such a chore to look back at. When we were all younger and felt like the WWE actually could possibly lose, it was awesome, and we were all sucked into it. But watching it back makes you realise how much the first three-quarters of that "iconic" match was.
