...and now it appears as though their Mixed Martial Arts equivalents may too never get the chance to work a fabled WWE clash together against some very unfortunate foes.

Ronda Rousey's remarkable 2018/19 WWE run remains one of the greatest kayfabe and real life rookie years in the history of the industry, whilst Shayna Baszler's steady progression on the independent scene resulted in her rapidly rising up the ranks on NXT as far-and-away the finest women's all-rounder on the black-and-gold brand. Bringing together the two along with friends Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke would have only required the linking of heel-turned Ronda with the three developmental brand rabble rousers to make a Four Horsewomen fantasy a reality. With the 'Baddest Woman' on the planet now potentially gone for good on an "impregnation vacation", this - along with the mooted dream match with the WWE equivalents - may be off the table too.

Shafir and Duke have yet to show anywhere near similar levels of greatness on NXT as their gold-laden teammates, but the experience and incredible instincts of Baszler and Rousey respectively (not to mention the vast confidence and assuredness of their four opponents) could have easily resulted in a showcase encounter worthy of main eventing a pay-per-view.
