5. The Mayhem Of ‘Taker’s Streak Ending
Hardly anyone remembers the ins and outs of Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker at ‘Mania XXX, but everyone remembers exactly where they were when Brock scored the shock win. Incredibly, ‘Taker was concussed come the finish and doesn’t remember much about the second half of the match either.
Legend has it that referee Chad Patton wasn’t 100% smartened up to the finish, so it came across kinda stilted to the live crowd in execution. It was only when a big "21-1" graphic flashed up on the tron that things started to sink in and people in attendance realised the ref’s three count wasn’t a botch.
In retrospect, it was a dizzying mess.
Ending The Undertaker's iconic winning run was drama-fuelled enough without the legend suffering a concussion and the odd crowd reaction. Patton definitely should've been clued in too - WWE were leaving an awful lot to chance for such a crucial landmark occasion.
