9. A United States Championship Programme Was Scrapped
Injuries and illnesses left WWE in disarray leading up to WrestleMania. A memo made the rounds to all employees saying that due to the impending health crisis, if anyone felt uncomfortable working the show, they could step down and it wouldn't be held against them.
One of the more high-profile feuds affected by this was Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade. Following Humberto Carrillo's failure to capture the United States Championship, plans were put in place to have Rey Mysterio battle the former Cien, as well as two other competitors in a fatal 4-way for the gold.
Mysterio was concerned for his health leading up to the show and thus put himself into voluntary quarantine, removing him from both a potential championship win and a WrestleMania payday as a whole. Andrade was then moved on to a feud for the Raw Tag Team Championship, teaming with Angel Garza to challenge the Street Profits, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford for the gold.
El Idolo, who had not long returned from a 30 day wellness violation, then suffered a rib injury on an episode of Raw and was replaced by Austin Theory in the match, where the champions would retain.
