10 Fascinating Final Matches From Famous Wrestlers

8. Roddy Piper

Roddy Piper was in thousands of matches over the course of his legendary wrestling career. He fought Hulk Hogan in one of the most famous feuds in the history of the industry, as well as bloody battles against Greg Valentine, and celebrity bouts against Mr. T.

While we recognize him from his work in the WWF, NWA, Georgia Championship Wrestling, and WCW, the man last battled within the confines of a JCW ring. Juggalo Championship Wrestling. Yes, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, the brainchild of The Insane Clown Posse.

On 12th August, 2011, Piper teamed up with his old bodyguard Cowboy Bob Orton to take on Terry Funk and Mick Foley. It was an absolutely bizarre match-up. Besides four legends wrestling in front of thousands of people in clown makeup, they all wore shirts to hide their late forties to late sixties physiques. Originally it was going to be Piper vs. Funk in an I Quit match, but once things devolved into chaos, it was changed into a tag bout.

Not only was the match bizarre, but it was aired live on the internet very late at night, finishing up at 5 am Eastern Standard Time. For those who ordered the show and stayed awake for it, they were probably unaware they were witnessing The Hot Rod's final ride.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
