10 Fascinating WWE Backstage Facts About Bray Wyatt
4. The Fiend Mask Was Designed By A Horror Icon
This entry will be slightly different from the others. While most entries in this article have discussed how Bray was a hero to others, this one is about the time Bray got to meet one of his heroes.
The man Bray Wyatt is talking to in the above photo is Tom Savini, who - if the collection of ghoulish heads in the background didn't give it away - is a legendary make-up artist. Savini is revered by horror fans the world over as the man who brought (un)life to George Romero's zombies, and as one of the minds behind Jason Voorhees iconic design. So when WWE needed someone to create The Fiend's iconic mask, Savini was their first port of call.
Anyone who ever saw Bray in action could immediately tell that he was a man well-versed in horror movies, and it's comforting to know that he got to work with one of the genre's icons before his untimely passing. The two clearly got on well together as well - check out this tweet to see Wyatt goofing around on Savini's crazy chair.
