Fast-tracked through developmental so fast he eluded NXT entirely, minus a stint masquerading as a Rosebud, Braun Strowman's 2015 main roster ascendancy came on a Raw full of shocks.

The Dudley Boyz had returned to WWE after over a decade away.

Sting had returned to target then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.

Some big lumbering goober in piss-brown trousers walloped Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.

It was hardly the biggest twist of the night, but indeed Braun Strowman became 'The Black Sheep' of a reformed Wyatt Family, flanked by Bray Wyatt himself and Luke Harper. His debut would have been a hot topic discussion for the episode - but Strowman, an aimless oaf, had neither the star power nor the likability of a Dudley or a Sting. His maiden main roster appearance went down like a wet fart.

Strowman, at least, didn't have to settle into WWE alone, as he's regularly credited Reigns with assisting the development of his early career, mentioning so during an interview with Sportskeeda's Rick Ucchino (h/t Sportskeeda Wrestling):-

"I've always had a lot of respect for Roman. Even when we were trying to kill each other, you know, he helped me out a lot early in my career, and he went away, and stuff in the beginning of this pandemic and I applauded him for being selfish and taking care of himself and his family, first and foremost."
