The main event of the 1995 King of the Ring was a rather uninteresting tag team match pitting WWE Champion Diesel and Bam Bam Bigelow against Psycho Sid and Tatanka, furthering both Bigelow's war with the Million Dollar Corporation and Diesel's championship feud with Sid. Not only was Diesel occupied in the non-title affair, but no other champions put their gold on the line at the show.

The Intercontinental Champion was Jeff Jarrett, who accompanied The Roadie for his tournament matches (The Roadie qualified, but Jarrett didn't; seriously). Owen Hart and Yokozuna reigned as Tag Team Champions, but Yokozuna was occupied with the tournament while Owen failed to qualify after going to a draw with Davey Boy Smith. Alundra Blayze was Women's Champion, but the Women's division made approximately three TV appearances a year, and this wasn't one of them.
