When Shawn Michaels and Triple H joined forces on-screen in August 1997, one of WWE's most prolific movements was coming together. D-Generation X would remain a part of WWE programming for most of the next three years, moving merchandise at a rapid pace. Their end would come with something of a non-descript whimper.

The win over the Dudley Boyz was the last time that a unified DX appeared on pay-per-view until 2006, when Michaels and Helmsley revived the faction's name. Triple H went off as a singles star in the summer of 2000 (quietly leaving his DX allies behind), while Billy Gunn remained on the shelf with a rotator cuff injury.

X-Pac and Road Dogg, who sat out Fully Loaded in July, found themselves lost in the midcard shuffle, and would turn on each other in mid-August, dissolving the influential group. Road Dogg, Gunn, and Chyna would partner up at the 2000 Survivor Series, albeit minus the DX name.
