One of the scheduled matches for the 1994 Royal Rumble was to be a revenge match, pitting Tatanka against Finnish brute Ludvig Borga. Borga had cheaply ended Tatanka's long-running undefeated streak in the fall of 1993, and this was to be Tatanka's shot at payback.

At that special Rumble show at Madison Square Garden days earlier, Borga was wrestling Rick Steiner when "The Hellraiser from Helsinki" suffered a serious ankle injury. The ailment forced Borga out of action and necessitated putting Bam Bam Bigelow in his place come the Saturday pay-per-view.

Borga never did return to action for WWE, despite being promoted for WrestleMania 10 up until a few weeks before the pay-per-view. Once pulled from that show as well, it was clear that Borga was history.
