You know you're not watching a typical Royal Rumble when the match ends less than 40 minutes after it started. Shawn Michaels, from the number one spot, needed to last only 38 minutes and change in order to go coast to coast and win.

WWE decided to have one-minute intervals for the 1995 version of the match, and promoted the bout as the fastest-paced Royal Rumble ever. It needed a special hook, since the '95 Rumble was going to be loaded up with a number of WrestleCrap-worthy gimmicks.

The accelerated intervals allowed for many of the wrestlers to be eliminated more quickly than in other years, to avoid the ring filling up with too much deadwood. How quickly? Read on and see the effects of the faster timer.
