With a 30-man Rumble match, two World title bouts, and a John Cena/Kane brawl as the announced card, one could argue that the Royal Rumble didn't need any side dishes. Yet come pay-per-view night, not one but two bouts were thrown in as extras.

The first was an eight-woman tag, pitting Beth Phoenix, Natalya, and The Bella Twins against Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Eve Torres, and Tamina. The other was a one-minute squash for new star Brodus Clay, who went over on the rapidly-fading Drew McIntyre.

It's not exactly clear why the two matches were added, but likely they had to do with Mark Henry's injury. Since the cage match wasn't going to be going that long, an extra six minutes of filler bouts would come in handy.
