Hey, imagine that - a Royal Rumble where the crowd openly rejects what WWE is feeding them, and their only hope to screw with the establishment is if Roman Reigns wins. When the match came down to Reigns and Batista, all of Pittsburgh wanted the Shield's resident slugger to break kayfabe and chuck Drax the Destroyer to his doom.

Prior to that finale, Reigns was making Rumble history by facilitating 12 eliminations. That broke the 13-year mark of Kane, who tossed out 11 in the 2001 match.

Of those 12, seven of them were former or future World Champions in WWE: Sheamus, Kevin Nash, JBL, The Great Khali, Dolph Ziggler, and even Shield teammates Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. For once, "Make Roman Look Strong" didn't piss a lot of people off, though that would change.
