As of this writing, Glenn Jacobs has been continuously employed by WWE for 22 years, though he apparently has not wrestled since December 2016, due to more important matters in his life ("Vote Kane for Mayor, or he'll burn your house down!"). Jacobs' first televised WWE match took place more than two decades earlier at the 1995 SummerSlam. Of course, he wasn't quite Kane yet.

Before donning the red and black of the demonic Kane persona, Jacobs was plucked from Smoky Mountain Wrestling (where he wrestled as Unabomb) to play Dr. Isaac Yankem, DDS. See, because Bret Hart had shoved Jerry Lawler's infected foot into his own mouth, giving him an oral disease that prompted a trip to his dentist, Dr. Yankem. Why Lawler, who's from Memphis, routinely checked in with an oral hygienist 400 miles away in Decatur, IL (Yankem's pun-tastic hometown) is one of WWE's great unsolved mysteries.

Jacobs' professionalism, willingness to improve, and ability to project menace have kept him employed with WWE for nearly half of his life. Who would have guessed that arriving on the scene as a sadistic dentist would lead to Jacobs becoming one of WWE's most enduring employees?
