8. Ric Flair Didn't Have The "Big Gold Belt" With Him

In July 1991, WCW Champion Ric Flair was fired from the promotion by Vice President Jim Herd, in one of the more boneheaded moves ever made in professional wrestling. Flair possessed the physical Big Gold Belt, which he had put a $25,000 deposit on. When WCW refused to pay Flair back his deposit (with interest), Flair took the strap with him when he was hired by WWE.

Proclaiming himself the "Real World's Champion", Flair brandished the belt on every WWE show, flinging more egg at WCW's collective face. When WCW brought legal action against Flair, WWE took to video-distorting the belt as part of the storyline (since it wasn't an official WWE belt).

Eventually, Flair reached a settlement with WCW, and the angle with the "bogus belt" would soon be dropped. Before then, as was the case with Survivor Series 1991, Flair would use a different physical belt for the angle, since it was going to be blurred or blacked out anyway. In the case of the pay-per-view, Flair held up a WWE World Tag Team belt in lieu of the WCW property.
