2. Mick Foley Quit Out Of Protest, For One Day
Given the standing Hart had in the WWE locker room, it was no surprise how upset many of his peers were at the night's turn of events. A number of wrestlers either quit (more on them in a moment), or openly discussed leaving the company, now that their boss was shown to be wholly untrustworthy.
One wrestler who did quit, at least briefly, was Mick Foley. The veteran brawler knew exactly what had transpired as soon as the bell rang, and got upset. His anger increased the more he thought about what he'd witnessed.
After venting his rage at a dejected Pat Patterson, Foley told the head agent to pass along to his superiors that he would not be at Raw on Monday. Indeed, Foley did not show up for work, but would soon after be coaxed back to work by Jim Ross and Jim Cornette. Foley himself reasoned that Hart would ultimately be okay with his loaded WCW deal, and that the incident wasn't worth Foley breaching his own contract over.
