10 Fascinating WWE Survivor Series 2004 Facts

7. Christian Debuted His New Theme At This Show

'Captain Charisma' was an upper-midcard heel with plenty to offer in terms of skill and personality. He was an element or two away from gaining the feel of an undeniable main event player, and some potential components came into play at the 2004 Survivor Series.

Christian ditched his generic nu-metal song of 18 months (Duhduh-duh--duh-DUH, now loop it), and instead entered to an Evanescence-esque ballad called Just Close Your Eyes by Waterproof Blonde. The song had just enough goth-opera pretentiousness sprinkled over a gritty, hard-rock baseline to make Christian feel more important than ever.

Additionally, Christian also debuted a beta version of the hooded ring jacket that would become standard for the remainder of his career. He lost in his Intercontinental title match with Shelton Benjamin, but arguably felt like a bigger star, result notwithstanding.
