10 Fascinating WWE Survivor Series 2005 Facts

8. Booker T And Chris Benoit Previously Had A Best Of Seven In WCW

The United States championship had been vacated days before Survivor Series, after champion Booker T and challenger Chris Benoit fought to a double-pin. To remedy the vacancy, the two were placed into a Best-of-Seven series, beginning at the pay-per-view. Booker won the first match to go up 1-0, before ultimately winning the challenge in January.

Previously, the two had another Best-of-Seven, this one for their previous employer. In the spring of 1998, Benoit and Booker squared off in multiple matches for a chance to face WCW Television champion Fit Finlay. That particular series came to an end at the 1998 Great American Bash, when Booker defeated Benoit in the rubber match, before upending Finlay later in the night for the gold.
