3. The Last Elimination Match Was The Longest In Survivor Series History
The Raw vs. SmackDown elimination match pitting each brand's top guys was an excellent bout, although waaaaay too long. Likely, they could have achieved in 35-40 minutes what they did in 52:55. Yes, nearly 53 minutes was allocated to the big match, with the first elimination (Dean Ambrose by Braun Strowman) not occurring until 16 minutes in.
The match set the record for longest in Survivor Series history, surpassing the 44:56 duration from the WWE vs. Alliance match in 2001. The 2016 match became the fourth match in event history to pass the 40 minute mark.
It also holds the distinction of being the fourth-longest match (Royal Rumble matches excluded) in WWE pay-per-view history, behind Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania XII), The Rock vs. Triple H (Judgment Day 2000), and, comically, Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper (Extreme Rules 2015).
