10 Fascinating WWE WrestleMania 36 Facts
7. Four Decades Of Destruction
Consider he's theoretically dead, The Undertaker's staying power was absolutely incredible. Of course, 'Taker really should have retired after The Streak ended but he didn't, that can't be changed, and he rolled back the years in the main event of night one to defeat AJ Styles in the first (and last, presumably) ever Boneyard match. The cinematic side of it all helped, of course, but performances are performances. Fair play to you, Deadman.
In headlining night one of WrestleMania 36, Undertaker became the first man to main event WrestleManias in four different decades. 'Taker's first 'Mania main event came in 1997 against Sycho Sid, although he had to wait 11 years before doing so again, coming up against Edge at WrestleMania XXIV. The next decade saw two Deadman main events (against Shawn Michaels in 2010 and Roman Reigns in 2017), while the first WrestleMania of the 2020s capped off this impressive accolade.
Will this record ever be matched? Funnily enough, most probably. If The Rock ever returns to the ring it is difficult to see that happening outside of a WrestleMania main event. If (or when) that happens, Dwayne will join 'Taker in four decades of 'Mania main events.
