10 Fascinating WWE WrestleMania Facts You Didn't Know
5. Hulk Hogan Was The First Man To Challenge For WWE, Intercontinental, And Tag Team Gold At WrestleMania
This one's hard to believe, simply because you'd never associate Hogan with anything but the primary championship. Hogan challenged for said WWE Championship at three different WrestleManias: 5, 7, and 9, the latter of which was impromptu. You could even count 4, since he was 'challenging' for it in the confines of a tournament, even if he wasn't a finalist. What's often forgotten is that Hogan challenged for The Ultimate Warrior's Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 6 - the match was title for title, after all. Three years later at WrestleMania 9, he and Brutus Beefcake unsuccessfully challenged for the Tag Team titles of Money Inc., Ted Dibiase and Irwin R. Schyster, losing by disqualification in oddball fashion.
