Best Matches: Triple H vs. Cactus Jack in a Hell in a Cell WWE Title match, Edge & Christian vs. The Hardy Boys, Rikishi & Too Cool vs. Benoit, Saturn & Malenko The best year in WWE history in terms of PPVs? 2000, no question about it. Almost any show from that year was great and the 2000 edition of No Way Out was no exception. It was obvious that Triple H was going to beat Cactus Jack in the Hell in a Cell match for the WWE Title because with his career on the line, it looked like Jack was done. They still had a very memorable match filled with blood, a barb wire baseball bat that was on fire, a table bump through the Spanish announce table and a back drop that sent Jack through the cage into the mat below. The good thing was they planned that bump by Jack and the landing was soft, so it wasn't like King of the Ring 1998 when it nearly killed him. Hunter won, Jack walked off into the sunset as a retired man although really it was only his run as a full timer that stopped because he did wrestle again. The midcard is solid. Any Edge and Christian match against the Hardy Boys is very good at worst. They were given 15 minutes, it was a very entertaining match that was even for both teams. Terri Runnels, who was managing the Hardys, turned on them and that led to E&C getting the win although they were surprised by it. That six man tag with Rikishi and Too Cool beating the Radicals was also an exciting tag match. At the time I can remember thinking that it was dumb to have Benoit, Saturn and Malenko lose their PPV debut (Eddie Guerrero was out with an arm injury), but it didn't really matter in the long run. Another noteworthy match was the IC Title match where Kurt Angle beat Chris Jericho to win his first title in WWE after only three months. It was early in the WWE careers of both of those legends.
