10 February PPVs You Should Watch On WWE Network

4. WCW WrestleWar (Feb 24, 1991)

Best Matches: War Games: Larry Zbyszko & The Four Horsemen (Barry Windham, Ric Flair & Sid Vicious) (w/Arn Anderson) vs. Sting, Brian Pillman, & The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner). There was also Bobby Eaton vs. Brad Armstrong and Lex Luger vs. Dan Spivey. Wargames. The name alone means greatness to wrestling fans because we know that most Wargames matches are great. The cage covered the two rings and it had a roof on top. There were eight men in the match. It was Ric Flair leading the heel team against Sting, the Steiners and Brian Pillman as a babyface on the rise. Like most Wargames matches, it was very good and the crowd was into it big time. This one was famous not just because of the bloody cage match, but a major botch too. http://youtu.be/stG6tW5iJbw Sid Vicious was going to Powerbomb Brian Pillman, but when he lifted him up, Pillman's legs hit the top of the cage. There just wasn't enough room to lift a guy up for a Powerbomb. Sid ended up dropping Pillman right on his neck in one of the sickest bumps you'll ever see. It looked so painful. For whatever reason, Sid felt the need to do it again. This time he was able to get Pillman up without hitting his head against the top of the cage and it looked fine. That led to El Gigante (later known as Giant Gonzalez in WWE) going out there and asking the match to be stopped since his buddy Pillman was knocked out. Was that the planned finish? Maybe not. They could have seen that Pillman was potentially seriously hurt so they just decided to call the match from there. The undercard was pretty solid too. Luger's US Title win over Spivey was surprisingly solid thanks to some nice power moves by both guys and a reversal finish by Luger. Eaton's win over Armstrong was a standard good wrestling match between two guys without a gimmick, but they were given time to have a good match and that's what they did. Wargames is the reason to check out this show, but if you watch the whole thing you won't be disappointed.
