1. Send Him To NXT
Though RVD is undoubtedly a fantastic talent who should be utilised as much as possible, the fact remains that he's getting older. He will turn 44 in December, he's wrestled an aggressive, hardcore style for decades, and though he can still go, he is slowing down and is definitely in the autumn of his career. And as is tradition in the wrestling industry, you job on the way out. There is precedent for established WWE stars to compete in NXT in the name of putting over young talent. William Regal competed against Cesaro to put him over on NXT programming, who in turn later competed in several matches against Sami Zayn. So I say, if there's nothing for Van Dam to do on mainstream programming, get him involved with the talent at NXT. Have him compete against Bo Dallas or Adam Rose, team him up with Sami Zayn against The Ascension, have him hang out with Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady backstage. Have him challenge Adrian Neville for the NXT Title in a Ladder Match, and then sit back and watch the fireworks, because that would be awesome! If all else fails, hire him as a trainer. Have him follow in the footsteps of William Regal and Shawn Michaels, and give the next generation the tools they need to be the best. I'd watch any wrestler trained by Van Dam, wouldn't you? So there we go, eight ideas to keep Van Dam busy when he returns after Wrestlemania. What do you think he'll do? What would you want him to do? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
