10 Fighters Who Were Banished From UFC
8. Maiquel Falcao
Coming into UFC with a 25 - 3 (1) record, it was plain to see that Maiquel Falcao had all the ingredients required to be a hit inside the Octagon.
Proving this theory to be true, Falcao won his inaugural bout under the promotion's banner by decision at UFC 123, beating Gerald Harris. Although, Falcao was clearly irked by the way the fight unfolded, stating that Harris 'tapped out in three different occasions, hiding it.'
But, all this would soon be the least of his worries...
Falcao would be arrested in his native Brazil - just days later - for assaulting a woman outside a nightclub in 2002. He'd been initially sentenced to 24 months in prison, yet managed to be moved to house arrest after eight months of his sentence.
After pulling out of his next fight due to injury, Falcao looked set to take on Tom Lawlor at UFC 134. As it turned out, the bout would never actually come to pass and the Brazilian would suddenly be released from the company - the move apparently coming after fans on social media demanded he be taken off the card.
Dana White stayed silent on the decision for two years, before commenting on the release in 2013. He stated that 'sexual assault, hitting a woman or anything like that, you're gone for the roster.'
Simple as that really.
