10 Finishing Moves Too Awesome For WWE

4. Roderick Strong - End Of Heartache/Strongbreaker

Roderick Strong has been a staple of the independent wrestling scene for a long, long time now, and is experiencing something of a career renaissance in PWG, where he is currently champion. Known as the 'Messiah of the Backbreaker', Strong has been known to perform the simple move from an impressive variety of positions.

His finish is the strangely-named End of Heartache (or more logically named Strongbreaker). Of course it involves a variation of the backbreaker, because Roderick Strong. The move is a lifted vertical suplex, where the victim is propelled into the air and left to fall. Unfortunately it isn't the mat that breaks the fall however, but Strong's knees.

Devastating.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
