Way back in 2004, Benjamin was coming off the back of a successful spell on SmackDown! as one half of the World's Greatest Tag Team, with partner Charlie Haas. Then, the future Gold Standard was abruptly drafted to Raw and his future was left hanging in the balance.

Upon his arrival as the flagship's newest singles blood, Benjamin found himself in one on one action with the, newly usurped former World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H.

The underdog was giving as good as he got but still couldn't put The Game - assisted by Ric Flair - away. Chris Benoit, the World Champ at the time, bombed down to ringside to extinguish the parasitic threat of the Nature Boy's constant interference. Benjamin capitalised on the inadvertent distraction and caught the King of Kings off guard with a splash in the corner, leading to a roll-up victory.

Benjamin scurried away and left with a 'W' over the multiple time World Champion. With that sort of scalp on his resume, Benjamin soon found himself feuding for the Intercontinental Title - which he would claim on numerous occasions.

Although he's never got the illustrious World Title run he more than deserves, his athletic displays and charismatic charm (his Momma also had a hand in proceedings) helped to get Benjamin over as one of the strongest talents on the roster.

His opportunistic coming out party against the now COO proved to be the blueprint for the man's evergreen success.
