It's about damn time that Cedric Alexander got the push he so richly deserves!

Now that's out of the way, let's delve into how this all came to pass.

Alexander had been drafted to Raw in the 2019 (shudder) Superstar Shake-Up, going on to lose his debut match to Cesaro.

Excellent.

That loss alluded to an immediate burial of the former Cruiserweight champion, with him pretty much disappearing for the two months that followed. A brief 24/7 title reign brought him back to the audience's attention before Alexander disguised himself as Gary Garbutt in a losing battle, teaming with Roman Reigns to take on Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.

This sudden flip up into the main event scene definitely helped raise his stock in the company, as the following week saw him score a sensational upset pin over the Scottish Psychopath.

A fluke it may have been - Alexander lost the rematch - but it appeared to have set the man up as a serious competitor and he soon found himself with a pinfall over AJ Styles and a U.S.Title shot at Clash of Champions.

Alexander would go on to lose cleanly to Styles at the PPV, but the two showcased what excellent chemistry they have together and the defeat definitely didn’t take any shine off of Alexander's recent ascension.

That man deserves a rematch!
