6. Mr Perfect Vs. Ric Flair (Monday Night RAW - January 1993)
As the WWF was ushering in the New Generation of stars, one of the names who didn't fit that mould was Ric Flair, so after only 18 months in the WWF, Flair opted to leave the company in January of 1993. But before he left, he would have a 'Loser Leaves Town' match with his former protege, Mr. Perfect. This was on, I think, the third RAW show after it's debut and just after the Royal Rumble. The Nature Boy did the honours on the way out for Curt Hennig in an 18 minute match would set the tone for the kind of matches that could take place on RAW. The atmosphere of the Manhatten Center and the emotional commentary from Bobby Heenan just added to the in ring presentation which was (obviously) tremendous considering the two talents involved. Flair felt like he was truly fighting for his spot in the WWF, while Hennig had something to prove since he only came out of retirement two months before and hadn't managed to have a great match yet, so the pressure was on to deliver for Perfect. in the end, a Perfect Plex would seal Flair's fate and send him back to WCW while Hennig got his mojo back for his revived WWF run.
