10 Forgotten Gems From WWF's New Generation Era

4. Shawn Michaels Vs. Marty Jannetty (Monday Night RAW - July 1993)

When Marty Jannetty turned up in May 1993 on RAW and shockingly won the IC title from former partner, Shawn Michaels, it became the famous Rockers clash but in fact, a forgotten affair is a match that the two would have later in the summer of 1993 in the same building on RAW only this time, Michaels had his insurance policy, Diesel, with him for the match. Shawn had won the title back from Jannetty shortly after the title switch in May, so Jannetty got his rematch in front of the world on RAW. The two battled it out for about 15 minutes in a fantastic bout but in the end, after Jannetty miscued some offense and went flying from the ring to the concrete on the outside, Diesel would throw Marty back in the ring for The Heartbreak Kid to get the pinfall and retain the championship. While this match doesn't have the bonus of Jannetty finally lifting the IC title, it's better than their previous match in a lot of ways and you can check it out on the WWE Network for just $9.99.
