10 Forgotten Moments In The Undertaker's WWE Career

4. His Odd Shoot Promo

How many of us remember this Undertaker worked-shoot promo? I'd wager: not many of us. Pretty remarkable considering it happened smack bang in the middle of the Attitude Era, concerned one of the biggest characters in WWE history and helped lead into The Undertaker's later run as a satanic cult leader.

Throughout his near 10-minute ramble, 'Taker dipped in and out of character. One second, he spoke of staying loyal when "every other hand-picked champion left for more money". That shoot comment was a clear jibe at WCW, but when he followed it up by pretending the ongoing Kane feud was a genuine personal issue he didn't want aired in public, the promo reverted to work.

Talk about a one off, this was so off-kilter even for The Undertaker in 1998. Seeing him stroll to the ring in street clothes, speak without his trademark gravelly cadence and reference Shawn Michaels' old problems ("I never lost my smile") was astonishing.
