10 Forgotten WCW Wrestlers You Totally Don't Remember

2. The Minotaur

Steve DiSalvo could've passed as an Ultimate Warrior cosplay on various WWF tribute shows in the 90s. Honestly, stick some face paint on that handsome mug pictured above and you'd have a bargain bin Jim Hellwig to be proud of. Instead, WCW restrained themselves from debuting Renegade early and had DiSalvo call himself The Minotaur.

If you're a fan of Greek mythology and hoping that name meant something, then sorry to disappoint. It was just a name. Minotaur had nothing to do with some part-bull part-man monster. That moniker was something Steve debuted in WCW too, so either they came up with it or he came to the party with a half-baked idea.

He'd faded into obscurity by 1991 anyway.

Who knows why Vince McMahon and the WWF passed on DiSalvo during various tryouts between 1987-1990? McMahon was obsessed with muscles and cracking physiques during that era, and the heat from feds about steroid use hadn't kicked in yet. Minotaur had WWF project written all over him.
